The Certification Officer maintains a list of trade unions and of employers' associations. Any employers' association may apply to the Certification Officer to have its name included in the public list, or it may choose to be 'unlisted'. Entry in the list means no more than that the body concerned satisfies the statutory definition of a employers' association. Regardless of whether an association is 'listed' it must still comply with all the legal requirements.
For more information on the process of listing and the definition of an employers' association please see Chapter 1 and Appendices 2 and 2a of the Annual Report.
